Happy Half a Year!
Dear Oliver,
Hard to believe you are six months old already...
Sitting up on your own and bigger than your teddy...
Tasting solid food and splashing in the tub with mommy...
Laughing and squealing when you get tickeled by daddy...
Enjoying our bedtime routine- especially brushing your teeth and talking to Jesus...
You love to pat the book and turn the pages as I read- as soon as you start to fuss...
In your crib you go- off to a goodnight's sleep...
Wrapped up tight in your cousin Amber's blanket without even a peep...
Your smile makes my day a million times brighter...
Your cuddly arms around my neck make me want to hold on to time a little tighter...
Loving you is easy, not because you are an easy baby, but because you're you...
Looking back on the past six months- what mommy and daddy wish we knew...
It seems if we knew now what we didn't know then...
We could stop your crying before it ever began...
We would have been less nervous our first night alone...
Although as first time parents, all these things are common not to have known...
We love you sweet Oliver...
Six months ago- we love who you were...
No matter how you change, and change you will...
Six months from now and sixty million months from now- we will love you still...
At his 6 month check-up: 14 lb 13 oz (10th percentile), 26 in long (25th percentile)
