A friend of mine recently told me that at 18 months was when she felt like her daughter was truly a toddler, and no longer a baby. Now, I know why she said that. Oliver is truly his own little person now. What a joy he is!
Here is what he has been up to:
~Even though a lot of what he says sounds like gibberish, he is saying more and more words, such as..."Bye-bye", "Bubbles" (which sounds like, "Buba"), "Teeth" (which sounds like, "Teetees"- maybe because I say, "Teefies"), "Waffle and Cracker" (which usually sounds like "Douja"), "Moon" (which sounds like "Moo"), "Woof-woof" (when I ask him what a dog says), "Choo-choo" (when I ask what a train says, although it sounds more like a grunt with "Woo-woo" added in), "Duck" (when he gets out of the bathtub and points to his stuffed duck that makes noise, sounds like "Yaya"), and finally- he has said a short sentence..."Bye-bye Dada."
Here is what Oliver has been up to:
~Showing off (sometimes this is in the form of rolling around on the floor like a crazy man...the more we laugh, the more he does it- or, in the form of showing off things he collects outside)
~Wrestling with Dada
~Wearing suspenders as usual (hey, this little dude is still wearing 6 month clothes- the suspenders help keep his pants up)...
~He can hum the tune of the ABC song ~He seems to be musically inclined...he will hum his own little tune from time to time...dance on beat...and he played the keyboard at his Great Papa's birthday party
