Oliver Turns TWO

At the ripe old age of two, Oliver Wayne has emerged into a fun, caring, nature-lover, explorer, friendly, outgoing yet sometimes shy, sweet yet sometimes stubborn, quick to apologize, energetic, little dancing machiine! He can now say many, many words...some of them are still hard to understand, but his language skills are definitely blossoming! For examplee, he will say a sentence but it totally sounds like a foreign language. It is so cute though, (and pitiful too). I just love him so much! My favorite words to hear him say are: motorcycle, banana "naah-nee," vacuum "butt-pain," guitar "dah-bum", Oliver "Ah-ver," Rose, Charley "Chaa-chaa," or "Chaa-vey," Amen, book, pee, and Super Why "Why-why." He can even repeat the letters, A, B, and C.
Oliver loves to...
~Help Daddy grocery shop
~Take a nap ANYWHERE
~Play with trains
~Talk on the phone while vacuuming
~Sit on top of cool cars
~Spread his legs so cars can roll under him
~Fingerpaint
~Get all bundled up for a trip to the mall even when he has a cold
~Help carry things for Mama and Daddy
~Build gingerbread houses
~Help Mama hang ornaments on the tree
~Point to things he loves: motorcycles, planes, and the moon
~Pose for pictures with Daddy's help
~Play with his presents he got from Santa
~Sit on his motorcycle that Pepaw painted
~Sit on Santa's lap
~Dress like the most adorable boy in the whole wide world
~Play the guitar, just like Daddy

~Say "Amen" after a prayer
~Recognize the letter "A"
Here are some pics from his birthday party...it was an airplane theme!
~We reserved the Sweet Frog for FREE, and I didn't spend any money on the decorations or food- thanks
Mimi for buying the cake!

Perhaps the biggest news is that Oliver is weaning, (mostly parent-led)...right now he nurses one to two times a day- morning and when I get home from work. We have cut out the night time nursing session and plan to completely wean him by January 19, 2014 (that was my due date with him, so I figured that would be a special day to remember). We will see if that goes as planned. It has been more emotional on me than I imagined, but I am doing better with it as time goes on. I believe Oliver is ready to wean and I am proud of him for adjusting so well. I will forever treasure every nursing session we have had together as the weaning process is very bittersweet...
